Daisie Ann Ketelsen was born January 11, 1932 at the Nissen Hospital at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa to Elmer August Ketelsen (b November 5, 1909 Clutier, Iowa, d September 25, 1989 Osage, Iowa) and Gladys Ivey Olsen (b February 7, 1907 St Ansgar, Iowa, d September 24, 2001 same), the second of their four children.

Her siblings were: Dixie Lee (b July 13, 1930 Osage, d June 26, 1984 Osage, Iowa); Dean Elmer (b March 11, 1933 Osage, d November 6, 1986 Osage, Iowa) and Dale Glenn (b March 11, 1936 Osage, Iowa, d March 22, 2014 Baton Rouge, Louisiana).

Daisie was baptized on August 7, 1932 at the Osage Lutheran Church, Osage, Iowa by the Rev T.P. Solem. Her baptismal sponsors were her maternal grandparents, Mr & Mrs Chris Olsen. She was confirmed at the same church in 1946.

Daisie grew up on a farm in Burr Oak township of Mitchell County where she attended rural school till 8th grade, graduated from Osage High School and participated in 4-H; sports and church activities.

Found in the 1940 census living at Burr Oak, Mitchell, Iowa: Elmer A Ketelsen 30, Gladys I Ketelsen 33, Dixie Lee Ketelsen 9, Daisy Ann Ketelsen 8, Dean E Ketelsen 7, Dale G Ketelsen 4.

Daisie attended Business College in Mankato, Minnesota and after graduation, worked as a secretary for Blandin Manufacturing.

She married LaVerne Russell Olsen on June 3, 1951 at the Osage Lutheran Church, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple had 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys.

Daisie and LaVerne first lived at Kansas, then Colorado and finally, on a farm in Meroa, Iowa. Besides farming, they were custodians of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church for 30 years. Daisie enjoyed her friends and family, music and rosemaling.

Daisie died July 28, 1990 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, Mitchell, Iowa after years of battling cancer. She was 58 years, 6 mos and 7 days old and she and LaVerne were married 39 years.

She was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
