Believe that Julia (maiden surname unknown) was born August 1855 at Norway.

She emigrated to America about 1877 and settled at Mitchell County, Iowa.

She married Knudt Sponheim in 1880 at Mitchell Co, Iowa.

The couple had 6 children who were all born in Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa:
Synnova Knudtsdatter (b 1881, d May 24, 1886 Mitchell, Iowa);

Sigurd S (b January 1, 1882, d March 1969 South Dakota);

Oscar Bernardt (b May 29, 1887, d unknown);

Clara Sponheim (b August 25, 1891, d unknown);

Clarence Fritchjoff (b May 24, 1897, d September 13, 1967 Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa) and

still born baby (name/dates unknown).

Found in the 1880 & 1885 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1880: Knud Sponheim 29, Julia Sponheim 25, Henry Sponheim 22, Ole Sponheim 15.

1885: Knud Sponheim 34, Garo Sponheim 30, Sunva Sponheim 4, Sagurd Sponheim 3.

Found in the 1900 census at Mitchell, Mitchell, Iowa: Knudt Sponheim 48, Julia Sponheim 44, Sigant Sponheim 18, Oscar B Sponheim 13, Frehard C Sponheim 3.

Found in the 1910 census at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Knute Sponheim 59, Guro Sponhiem 58[53], Oscar Sponhiem 22, Clarence Sponhiem 12.

Found in the 1915, 1920 censuses at Burr Oak, Mitchell, Iowa. Widowed:
1920: Guro Sponheim 62, Oscar Sponheim 32, Clarence Sponheim 22.

Found in the 1940 census at Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa: Clarence F Sponheim 42, Gura Sponheim 86, Oscar B Sponheim 52.

Julia Sponheim died unknown in Iowa. She is probably buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

(Note: there were 2 ladies named Guro or Julia who were married to 2 Sponheim men, one to Knudt and the other to Magnus, living in the same area at the same time.)
