Olaus Johanson Johnsrud was born October 14, 1863 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to John Olesen Johnsrud and Kari Olsdatter Lindelien, the second of their six children.

Olaus was baptized on November 15, 1863 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Found in the 1870 census living on his parent's farm at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Jno Oleson 40, Carrie Oleson 35, Carrie Oleson 8, Olons Oleson 6, Ann Oleson 4, Jno Oleson 2.

Olaus Johnsrud (Johnson) died at the age of 7 years on November 5, 1870 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. His burial record can be found in the list of "Early Burials at Rock Creek" from the records of First Lutheran Church of St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa with surname Johnson.
