Jennie Antonette Johanson was born December 6, 1888 at Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Jens Johannesen and Ingeborg Gulbrandsdatter, the fifth of their eight children.

Jennie was baptized at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa on May 5, 1889. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Mathias Nilesen; Johannes Johannesen and Gunda Johannesen.

1895: Jennie Johnson age 6.

1910: Jens Johannesen 58, Ingeborg Johnson 58, Johan (John) Gustav Johnson 31, Anton Oscar Johanson 23, Matthias Johanson 17, Jennie Antonette Johnson 21, Mathilda Maria Johnson 15, Alfred Johnson 10, Arthur Julius Johnson 5.

Jennie married Martin Oursland on August 29, 1913 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Iowa.

The couple had 4 children:
Marie Sunshine Oursland (1914 - 1956);
Martin Julius Oursland (1915 - 1984);
Ruthie Oursland (1915 - 2003) and
Woodrow Oursland (1920 - 1988).

Jennie Oursland died on January 17, 1921 in the U.S. - either at Mitchell County, Iowa or probably at Franklin, Washington. She was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
