Funeral services for Mrs. Oliver Farus, who passed away Wednesday evening, February 12, 1969, in the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, were held at the Congregational Church in Riceville on Saturday, February 15. The services were conducted by the Reverend Robert Iddlings.

Hazel Brown Farus was born November 25, 1909 at Riceville, the daughter of Min A. and Nettie Brown. She left Riceville in 1922, moving with her family to Forest City where she completed her education. She was united in marriage to Oliver Farus in 1927, returning with him to Riceville in 1939.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Gene, Dewitt, Iowa; three grandchildren; her mother, Nettie Brown, San Diego, California; a brother, Frank Brown, San Diego; one sister, Mrs. Willson (Bernice) Gaffney, San Diego, California.

She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, Arthur and a sister, Mrs. Roy (Marion) Kinney.

Interment was in Riverside Cemetery with the Chisholm Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
