Jim Boerjan, age 72, of Osage, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014. at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

There will be a prayer service for family and friends at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Inurnment at Sacred Heart Cemetery will immediately follow the prayer service. Following the inurnment, there will be a time for lunch and fellowship at the K.C. Hall in Osage.

Jim was born on March 23, 1941, in Osage, the son of Frank and Sue (Arickx) Boerjan. He graduated from Osage High School in 1960. In 1959, he was an individual state-wrestling champion for OCHS at 133 pounds. Jim began farming after high school. On December 3, 1966, Jim married Jo Naig at Sacred Heart Church in Osage. To this union, three children were born.

Jim enjoyed woodworking. His children kept him busy with all the various projects they gave him, for example a canoe, fireplace, coffee tables, display cabinets and clocks. He also enjoyed collecting various antiques and memorabilia, and working with all of his various animals on the farm. Jim was especially fond of driving his miniature horses and raising bulldog puppies. He was also a lifetime member of the Angus Association.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jo Boerjan, of Osage. He is also survived by two daughters, Libby (Scott) Krebsbach of Denver, Iowa, and Carey (Craig) Singsank of Racine, Wisconsin; one son Andy (Jen Butler) Boerjan of Cumming; six grandchildren, Derek Krebsbach and Rachel Krebsbach of Denver, Iowa, Jake and Lydia Singsank of Racine, Wisconsin, Maya and Tyson Butler of Cumming; a brother, Charlie (Connie) Boerjan of Marengo; a sister, Patricia (Boerjan) Schlindwein of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Ginny Boerjan of Osage; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry (Sharon) Naig of Amity, Oregon, and Mark Naig of Dallas, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, Frank and Sue Boerjan, and a brother, August Boerjan, preceded him in death.
