LOREN MOELLER,
LOCAL BUSINESSMAN
DIES AT ROCHESTER

Loren Moeller, 53, Gladbrook businessman, passed away Tuesday morning, September 5 in Rochester, Minnesota, where he had been a patient the past eight days. He had undergone surgery in June.

Born April 8, 1914 in Riceville, he was the son of Henry and Frieda Bechtum Moeller. He received his education in Gladbrook and was graduated from the Gladbrook High School.

June 11, 1939, he was united in marriage to Ina Maxine Wiese and they made their home in Gladbrook and for the past 30 years he had operated Moeller’s Produce in Gladbrook.

He was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ, Olivet Lodge No. 436 A.F.&A.M., El Kahir Shrine and the Consistory both at Cedar Rapids, B.P.OE No.312 of Marshalltown, the Commercial Club, a member of the Lake & Park Holding Corporation, a charter member of the Gladbrook Nursing Home Board and a former member of the Town Council.

Preceding him in death was his father and a son in infancy.

Surviving are his wife and three children, Ronald of St. Louis, Missouri; Susan, a senior at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls; and Lynn Dennis at home. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Frieda Moeller, one sister and two brothers, Margaret at home, Lyle and Marlin Moeller of Beaman.

Services will be held from the Peace United Church of Christ, 2 p.m., Friday, in charge of Rev. Robert Marquardt, pastor. Committal services in the Maple Hill Cemetery will be in charge of the Masonic Lodge. A Memorial Fund is being established and will be presented to the Gladbrook Nursing Home.
