Funeral services for Mrs. May Nicol, 71, who died Saturday evening at her home, were held Tuesday afternoon. She had not been ill and her death was caused by a heart attack.
Rev. Lyle Norris, pastor of the Congregational church in Osage was in charge of the services at the Champion Funeral Home. Burial was in the Osage cemetery.
Goldie May Nicol was born on October 5, 1899, in Arcola, Illinois, the daughter of Adam and Catherine Huff Korte. She moved to Osage with her family when she was five years old.
Morris James Nicol and May Korte were united in marriage on August 25, 1921, at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa. They lived all of their married life in the Osage area.
Surviving are six children: Mrs. Bernard Hagedorn (Dorothy) of Osage, Mrs. Robert Tabor (Ruby) of Del Rio, Texas, Kenneth Nicol of Rockford, Illinois, Carroll Nicol of Osage, Mrs. Marvin Pitzen (Edna) of Osage, and Mrs. Robert Beyer (Marilyn) of Rochester; one brother, Ray Korte of Osage, and one sister, Mrs. Elmer Brandau (Mary) of Osage; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Morris; her parents; one son; one daughter, and one brother, George Korte.
