Mrs. Augusta Bublitz, nee Borkenhagen, was born January 29, 1850, at Nadelfatz, Pomerania, Germany. Here she was also baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
In 1868 she came to this country with her father, making her home in Milwaukee, Wis. There she was married to Herman Bublitz on January 17, 1871, with whom she came to Worth county, Iowa, in March, 1878. Two years later they moved to a farm in Newburg township, Mitchell county. Here they lived till retired and came to St. Ansgar, November 11, 1907. Mr. Bublitz died January 18, 1925.
The deceased was the mother of ten children, four of whom preceded their mother in death. With the exception of a few minor ailments, the deceased enjoyed good health to her ripe old age. It was only about two weeks ago that her strength began to fail and dwindle till she finally fell peacefully asleep last Friday morning at 11 o'clock.
The days of her pilgrimage were 89 years, one month and 11 days. She is survived by two sons, four daughters, 20 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The funeral services were held Monday at Immanuel's Lutheran church and cemetery. Rev. Brammer officiated.
