Olga Margaret Anderson was born October 14, 1899, at rural Floyd, Iowa to Nels Anderson and Anna Maria Halvorsdatter Horgen, the eighth of ten or eleven children.

Found in the 1900 census living at Floyd, Iowa: Nels Anderson 45, Annie M Anderson 39, Albert Anderson 21, Martha Anderson 18, Lina Anderson 14, Henry Anderson 12, Oscar Anderson 10, Gilbert Anderson 6, Alma Anderson 3, Olga Anderson 7/12.

Found in the 1910 census at Cedar, Mitchell, IA: Nels Anderson 75[45] , Anna Anderson 49, Gilbert Anderson 16, Alma Anderson 13, Alda Anderson 10, Lester Anderson 9, Nora Anderson 7.

Olga was married 4 times. The first marriage was to Lloyd Rucker before 1920. Believe they had a daughter Aldene (born 1922) and 2 sons Kenneth (born 1924) and Leland.

1920: Milton Rucker 49, Anna Rucker 43, Lloyd Rucker 23, Olga Rucker 20. (couple living w/ Lloyd's parents).
1925: Mels (Nels) Anderson 69, Anna Anderson 64, Olga Rucker 25, Kenneth N Rucker 1, Aldene Rucker 20 (should be 2).

Olga next married Glen Cedric Godfrey in 1928 at Mitchell County, Iowa. Olga and Glen had 2 children: Glenna (born 1930) and George (born 1935).

1930: Glenn C Godfrey 39, Olga Godfrey 31, Glenna Godfrey 0[5/12], Kenneth Rucker 6, Allene Rucker 8, Glenly Mikesell 20.
1940: Glenn Godfrey 49, Olga Godfrey 40, Glenna Godfrey 10, George Godfrey 5, Aldene Rucker 18, Kenneth Rucker 16.

Olga's third husband was a Mr. Turner (cannot find first name).

Her fourth marriage was to Arthur Noble Nelson on January 1, 1973. Arthur Nelson had previously been married to Olga's sister, Nora who had died in 1969).

Olga Nelson died June 2, 1987 at Decorah, Winneshiek, Iowa and is buried at the Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.

POSTVILLE HERALD, June 1987, Postville, Iowa. Obituary: Olga Nelson, age 87, of Decorah, Iowa, formerly of Osage, Iowa, died June 2, 1987 at a Decorah, Iowa, nursing home. She was a former Clermont, Iowa resident. Funeral services were held on Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, Iowa with the Rev. Joseph Nesheim and the Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Burial was in the Osage, Iowa, Cemetery.

Olga was born October 14, 1899 in Osage, Iowa to Nels/Nils and Anna (Horgen) Anderson who lived in Clermont, Iowa before moving to Floyd County then Mitchell County, Iowa. Preceding her in death were her former husbands, Lloyd Rucker, Glen Cedric Godfrey*, (Unknown first name Turner); a daughter Aldene (Rucker) Bower, a granddaughter, Sandra Kay Bower; and nine brothers and sisters: Albert Anderson, Mrs. Leonard (Martha) Turnmire, Henry Anderson, Oscar Anderson, Gilbert Anderson, Alma Virchow Clark, Lester Anderson, Nora Telvena Nelson, and Bertina Anderson. Survivors include her husband, Arthur Noble Nelson of Decorah, Iowa who she married on January 1, 1973; one daughter, Mrs. James (Glenna) Lence of St. Paul Park, Minnesota; 3 sons, Leland Rucker of Sacramento, California, Kenneth Rucker of Owensboro, Kentucky, and George Godfrey of Marshalltown, Iowa; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
