MITCHELL COUNTY

OSAGE, IOWA — George R. Scammon, 79, died Tuesday afternoon at Billings, Montana, where he had lived the past few years. Funeral rites are pending.

He was born on February 22, 1876, to Edwin and Abbie Scammon, on a farm northeast of Osage.

He married Maude Hatfield of Osage and they lived for several years on a farm, near Orchard, leaving for Wibaux, Montana, where they lived until Mrs. Scammon died, then Mr. Scammon moved to Billings, Montana.

Survivors include three sons and one daughter, all of Montana, and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Frick, Osage, and Mrs. Carie Ellis, Emmetsburg.

Preceding him in death were one sister and three brothers.
