Marie Louise Gunderson was born January 29, 1908 at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa to Carl Gustave Gunderson and Inga Amelia Westend, the younger of two children. She had a brother, Erick Harold Gunderson.

1915: Maria Louise Gunderson age 6.1920: Gustav Gunderson 43, Inga Gunderson 33, Harold Gunderson 12, Marie Gunderson 11.
1925: C G Gunderson 48, Mrs. Inga Gunderson 38, Marn Gunderson 17, Harold Gunderson 18.
1930: Gus Gunderson 53, Inga Gunderson 43, Harold Gunderson 23, Marie Gunderson 22.
Married Harold Wilbur Goodrich on August 26, 1933 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple had 2 children.
Found in the 1940 census at Cleghorn, Cherokee, Iowa: Harold W Goodrich 37, Marie Goodrich 32, Bonnie Goodrich 5, Don Goodrich 2.
Marie died February 9, 2012 at Mountain City, Johnson, Tennessee and was buried at Meriden Cemetery, Meriden, Cherokee, Iowa.

#2:Marie Louise Goodrich, age 104, passed away at her home in Mountain City, Tennessee, on Thursday, February 9, 2012.
She was born in St. Ansgar, Iowa, on January 29, 1908 to Norwegian parents, Carl Gustav and Inga Gunderson. Marie graduated from St. Ansgar High School and attended Iowa State University where she earned a degree in Home Economics. She commenced teaching in Cleghorn, Iowa, where she met and married Harold Goodrich. Harold and Marie had two children, who both were born in Cleghorn. Marie eventually retired from teaching Home Economics after having taught primarily at Tech High School in Omaha, Nebraska, and at North Ft. Meyers High School in Fort Meyers, Florida.
Marie had lived in Mountain City, Tennessee for the past 22 years. In retirement, Marie and Harold enjoyed traveling extensively. Marie attended First Christian Church in Mountain City. Her interests included knitting and crocheting as well as tending her flowers. Marie was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee Lady Vols as well as of Peyton Manning.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold and her brother, Eric Harold Gunderson. Marie is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Carter and husband Dale of Mountain City, Tenn.; son, Don Goodrich and wife Mary of Indianapolis, Ind. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
