Olvin Rudolph Gisleson was born October 23, 1881, at Marion, Clayton, Iowa, to Peter H. Gisleson and Kjersti Clara Olsdatter, the third of their six children.
Found in the 1895 census living at Marion, Clayton, Iowa: Alwin R Gisleson age 13.
The family moved west to a farm near Orchard, Floyd, Iowa about 1896/97. Olvin was confirmed at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa on June 13, 1897.
Found in the 1900 census at rural Floyd, Floyd County, Iowa: Peter F Gisleson 45, Clara Gisleson 48, Henry O Gisleson 23, George Gisleson 21, Olven R Gisleson 17, William P Gisleson 15, Paulina C Gisleson 11, Clarence S Gisleson 5.
Olvin never married, nor had children.
He died December 1, 1903 in Floyd County, Iowa and was buried at the Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.
