DAVIS, Ruby Virginia --June 21, 1918 - Feb. 7, 2009

Our beautiful mother died peacefully in the loving presence of her family. Ruby now joins her beloved husband Able James Davis, her son Timothy, daughters Ruth Jones, and Jeanette Pack, and her sons-in-law Ronald Hauglid and Ed Moore, her parents Harry and Nellie Smalley and many of her siblings.

Ruby survived by her loving children Mary, Euince, Naomi, Gail (Smokey), David (Sue), Debby (Frank), Rachelle (David), Able, (Pam), and sons-in-law Corky and Lee. Ruby leaves 27 precious grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Ruby is survived by two sisters, Bessie and June.

Ruby was a proud, devoted Jehovah's Witness and her belief was that she would be reunited with her cherished family members. Although our grief is tremendous, we have joy in knowing she was looking forward to seeing her family again. Ruby left us with many wonderful memories.

She was a strong, independent woman who raised five children all by herself when Abe died. You did the best you could, and we are very proud of you! Ruby was lucky enough to spend the last five years with her loving daughter Rochelle.

You gave mom comfort and care, which was not always easy. You lost thousands of hours of sleep and cooked foods you thought she might like. You and mom had a special bond together and she loved you. Your sons also helped at times, and we thank you, Ryan, Josh, Jeremy, and Ronnie. The love you showed grandma the last two days was awesome. Grandma knew she was loved, and Ryan got her to open her eyes one last time. A special thank you to Linda for helping our mom though her final journey. One lasting memory of Ruby is her singing the song "Red River Valley" a billion times. Thank you for the memories, mom! We love you! The funeral will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 10:00 a.m. at North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Ave.
