MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA — Alverda (Smalley) “Berdie” Mallow, age 82, of Fridley, Minn., formerly of Osage, Iowa, went to be with her Lord on March 29, 2013.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 825 51st Ave. N.E., Columbia Heights, Minn. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Chapel, 2610 19th Ave. N.E., Minneapolis, Minn., and one hour prior to services at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Martha Smalley; brother, Vaughn Smalley; and sister, H. Delores Swenson.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Keith; daughters, Lynette (John) Berding, Sheryl (Rodney) Achterberg and Susan (Thomas) Tischer; grandchildren, Jason, Melissa, Megan, Heather, Laura, David, Matthew, Sarah and Michael; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Herman Terry (Carol) and Karon (Judy) Smalley; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
