Leonard Galen Ball was born on November 19, 1905, in Iowa, the son of James Clinton Ball and Una Viola (Hatcher).

He died on August 17, 1996 living at Carmichael, Sacramento, California, and was buried in Camellia Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Sacramento, Sacramento County, California.

His Social Security number, 480-18-8169, was issued in Iowa. [Social Sec. Death Index.]

He served in World War II, in the U.S. Army.

In 1920 he was living at Farden, Hubbard county, Minnesota. He was 14 years old, and lived with Walter R. Ball (28), Fern H. Ball (22), and Vivian F. Ball (1 yr 5 mo). [1920 US Census].

In 1930 Leonard was living at St. Ansgar, Iowa, with the Adolph Groth family, being a 24-year-old servant and was single. His father and mother were each born in Iowa. [1930 US Census].

In 1940 he was living at Osage, Iowa. In 1935 he was also living at Osage, Iowa. He was 34 years old and married. He worked as a laborer and was renting his home. [1940 US Census.]

His grave marker shows his wife as Ethel L. Ball, who was born on Feb. 8, 1910 and died April 1, 1986.
