MITCHELL, IOWA - Juanita M. Arickx, 93, died Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Faith Home in Osage.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Msgr. John Hemann officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Juanita was born April 2, 1919, on the family farm near Mitchell, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Wilma (Zemanek) Adams. She attended Fairview Country School and St. Ansgar High School. She married Raymond Arickx, Sr. on May 4, 1938. Juanita was especially known for her love of babies and animals. She was a great baker and made wonderful chocolate angel food cakes and chocolate chip cookies. Juanita loved to sew and won a second place ribbon on her hand-stitched cathedral quilt at the Iowa State Fair.

Juanita is survived by her children: Janice (Comisky) Schonrock (Elmer) of Winnebago, Minnesota, Raymond Arickx, Jr. of St. Ansgar, Charles Arickx (Deborah) Wayne, Nebraska, Mark Arickx of Osage; 12 grandchildren: Colleen Tauke (Paul), Deanna Gard (Jerry), James Comisky (Shelley), Jason Comisky (Christy), Angie Arickx, Paul Arickx (Kelly), Dan Arickx (Dawn), Corissa Arickx, David Arickx, Josh Arickx (Sara), Adam Arickx (Sarah), Erin Smith (David); 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Grimm (Carl) of Osage; and sisters-in-law, Lillian Adams, Loella Adams and Edna (Adams) Roll.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Arickx, Sr. in 1992; her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Wendy Arickx; daughter-in-law, Carol Arickx; son-in-law, Maurice Comisky; two sisters, Winona Stroberg and Virginia Peronteau; and six brothers, Glen, Donald, Rene, Wayland, Dean and Gene Adams.
