PLYMOUTH, IOWA — LaBonna “Bonnie” Picht, 87, of Plymouth, died Monday, February 11, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Linda Johnson Prestholt officiating.

There will be a time for refreshments and fellowship following the memorial service at the American Legion Hall in Osage.

LaBonna “Bonnie” Picht was born September 29, 1925, in rural Osage, the daughter of Gustav and Margaret (Bahnsen) Paulson. She graduated from Osage High School in 1943, and attended Luther College in Decorah, for one semester. Before marriage, she was employed as a typist clerk at Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa. After marriage, she worked as a secretary at the Story County Abstract Office in Nevada, Iowa. On Nov. 9, 1946, she married John Picht and to this marriage two sons and two daughters were born.

She enjoyed improvements and neatness in all respects. Bonnie kept herself physically fit with early morning walks and was her husband’s side- kick for 66 years farming and raising the family. She had great pride and joy in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was excited with the news of three more great-grandchildren to come.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, John Picht of Plymouth; her children, Mark (Barb) Picht of Plymouth, Ann (Dar) Rohlfsen of Ankeny, Echo (Ben) Guenther of Cedar Rapids, Shawn (Jeanne) Picht of Charles City; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and three expected great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Nathan Picht; her great-grandson, Gunner Harris; two brothers, Gaylon “Jigger” Paulson and Carroll Paulson; and two sisters, Twyla Paulson and Joyce Hveem.
