DIED SUDDENLY LAST
THURSDAY AT HOME

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 20, at the Champion Funeral Home for Mrs. Vern Tenney, 61, who died of coronary thrombosis Thursday, having been ill but three hours. Rev. C.D. James officiated, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Lucine Minerva Godfrey was born to George and Daisy Welch Godfrey on June 2, 1889, near Osage. She attended the local schools and the Cedar Valley Seminary and then taught at Little Cedar, Frederika and Guttenberg.

On October 6, 1915, she was united in marriage to Vern Tenney, and the couple established their home in Osage, living here all of their married life with the exception of one year spent in Mason City. Mrs. Tenney was a member of the W.S.C.S., the Methodist church, Women's Club, and the Stitchery club.

Surviving are her husband, mother, two daughters, Mrs. Dave Christiansen of Osage, and Mrs. Donald Loney, of Madison, Wisconsin; one granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Lester Austin of Lincoln, Nebraska, and a brother, Stanley Godfrey of Osage.

Preceding her in death were her father; a sister, Corlie Godfrey Bowers, and a bother, Glen Godfrey.
