Esther Marie Gilbert, age 65, of Wildwood, Illinois, died on Thursday, March 8, 2001, at the Candell Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 12, at the Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium in Grayslake, Illinois, with Pastor Wayne Jahn of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Waukegan officiating. Interment was in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois.

Esther was born on October 12, 1935 in Riceville, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Mable (Dilley) Ring. She was a resident of Wildwood since 1964 and was formerly of Iowa. Esther was employed at Danaher Controls in Gurnee, Illinois, for over 36 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Richard Gilbert; a brother, Earl Ring; and step-mother, Vivian "Peanuts" Ring.

Those that survive her include her daughter, Cynthia Marie and husband, Gary Carlson of Wildwood, Illinois and their three children, Nicole Marie, Bret Ryan and Kyle Richard Carlson; her brother, Wilford and Ilene Ring of McIntire; a sister-in-law, Belvia Lovik of Osage; and several nieces and nephews.
