West Valley City, Utah — Susanna (Sue) Marie Kolbet, 56, of West Valley City, Utah, died January 2, 2013, at the Salt Lake Regional Hospital, in Utah.

Per Sue’s wishes, her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, January 5, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in West Valley City, Utah.

A memorial service will also be held in her hometown of Alta Vista, Iowa, on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the VFW Hall.

Sue was born September 25, 1956, in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Donna (Rex) Kolbet. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1974. Sue spent her life as a registered nurse and was working on her master’s degree at the time of her death.

Sue is survived by her mother, Donna Kolbet of Osage; one brother, Alan Kolbet of Alta Vista; and four sisters, Janet Hennigar of Dumont; Wanda (Dean) Folkers of Alta Vista; Sheila (Doug) Moritz of Osage; and Carmela (Loren) Slick of Alta Vista. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Keith (Jessica) Hennigar, Derek Hedrick, Andy and Mark Folkers, Amanda and Michael Moritz, Steven, Sean, and Shain Slick, and Samantha (Tommy) Pittman. She is also survived by four great nieces and a great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Kolbet, and both sets of grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family.
