DIED MONDAY AT
HOME OF DAUGHTER

Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas Larson, 85, will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at two o'clock at Champion's Funeral Home and at 2:30 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church. Rev. S.O. Sorlein will officiate. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Larson died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Olvin Moe, near Osage, where she had made her home the past two years.

Lena Haugen was born on May 8, 1863, in Norway, the daughter of Ole and Annie Haugen. She came to Cedar Township in 1878.

On September 14, 1891, she was married to Thomas Larson. They moved to Superior, Wisconsin, where they lived for six years. They then moved to Little Falls, Minnesota, where they lived for 17 years. Since then they have lived on a farm near Osage.

The Larsons have lived the past two years with their daughter, Mrs. Olvin Moe, and family near Osage. Mrs. Larson died after a lingering illness. In November she broke her hip from which she never recovered satisfactorily.

Surviving are her husband, daughter, two sisters, and one brother, Mrs. O.L. Wahl, Nettie Haugen, and Harry Haugen, all of Osage.

Olia (Lena) Olsdatter Haugen was born May 8, 1863 at Sondre Aurdal, Oppland, Norway to Ole Olsen Haugen and Anna Haraldsdatter, the third of their seven children.

She emigrated to Mitchell County, Iowa in 1878.

Confirmed July 14, 1878 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Olia married Thomas Larson September 14, 1891 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple had one daughter, Avilla Amalia Larson (born December 12, 1892, married Olvin Herbert Moe September 7, 1926, died September 12, 1979).

Olia Larson died March 14, 1949 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
