Ole Borgersen Flatla was born August 23, 1876 at Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa to parents, Borger Flatla and Kjersti Hovelsdatter Hvattum; the second of their six children. Ole was baptized and later confirmed on June 14, 1891 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Found in the 1880 & 1885 censuses living at Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa:
1880: Borger Flatla 43, Cristy Flatla 24, Ole Flatla 3, Rachel Flatla 2m.

1885: Borger Flatla 48, Christine Flatla 28, Ole Flatla 8, Rande M Flatla 4, Hovel Flatla 2.

Ole never married, no children.

Ole died April 16, 1894 at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Flatla lot at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Iowa. (There are 2 gravestones).
