Nettie Nellie Larson was born in St. Ansgar, Iowa, February 22, 1889. At the age of ten she went with her parents to their new home on a farm near Meltonville, Iowa. She was confirmed by Rev. Waldeland at the Deer Creek church, in the fall of 1909. She has since been a member of this church.

On the 20th of October, 1909, she was married to Mr. Sam O. Thompson with whom she lived a very happy wedded life.

Mrs. Thompson's health began to fail her last February. She grew gradually worse. In July her condition became serious and she did not respond to treatment. She was sick abed since last August.

Everything possible was done for providing every comfort but to no avail. Though at times there seemed to be hopes, there was no lasting improvement and she finally submitted to the disease on the 15th of November.

The funeral was held at the Deer Creek church, November, 20th. The services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Waldeland, and the remains were brought to St. Ansgar for interrment in the U.N.L. cemetery.
