Richard W. “Dick” Burke, 68, of Waterloo, died Monday, April 14, 1997, at Allen Memorial Hospital of cancer.

He was born August 23, 1928, in Riceville, son of Norbert and Edith Wiley Burke. He married Geraldine Huber December 5, 1950, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She died April 9, 1997.

Dick was owner of Westside Grocery and First Street Furniture Stores.

Survivors include three sons, James, of Cedar Rapids; Thomas, of San Francisco; Greg of Waterloo; two daughters, Judy Rieck of Waterloo; Kathy Cooley of Waterloo; two sisters, Connie Burke of Rochester, Minnesota; Barb Siler of Grand Meadow, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and two great grand-children.

Services were Thursday, April 17, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Waterloo memorial Park Cemetery.
