Funeral services for Mrs. Clifford Thorson, 75, of St. Ansgar, who died May 19, 1968 at the Methodist hospital in Rochester, were held May 22 at the First Lutheran church here with the Rev. Don Comnick officiating.
Marie Tonette Mehus Thorson, daughter of Hans and Ragnild Trom Mehus, was born October 2, 1892 in Otranto Township, in Mitchell County. She was baptized in early infancy by the Rev. Johan Olsen and was confirmed by Rev. Waldeland at First Lutheran church, St. Ansgar. She attended public school, Otranto.
Her marriage to Clifford Thorson took place October 3, 1917 at First Lutheran church. They had the privilege of observing their golden wedding anniversary on October 3, 1967. Following their marriage they established their home on a farm in the St. Ansgar area. To this union three daughters were born, Mrs. Wilmer (Delores) Feldt; Mrs. Harvey (Arlene) Kroneman and Mrs Robert (Anita) Rustad.
She was a lifelong and faithful member of the First Lutheran church and of all the women's organizations within the church.
On May 8 she underwent surgery at Methodist hospital in Rochester. She recovered from the surgery and was about to be dismissed when she suffered a severe stroke Friday, May 17 from which she never recovered.
Besides her husband and three daughters she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Annie Carlson and by 10 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Miss Minnie Mehus and one granddaughter, Gloria Rustad.
Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Comnick in charge of committal services.

ST. ANSGAR - Services for Mrs. Clifford Thorson, 75, who died Sunday night at a Rochester, Minnesota hospital, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church; burial in the church cemetery.
Survived by her husband; three daughters: Mrs. Wilmer Feldt, Mrs. Arlene Kroneman and Mrs. Robert Rustad, all of St. Ansgar; and a sister; Mrs. Annie Carlson of St. Assgar.
Schroeder and Houg Funeral Home in charge.
