IOWAN DIES IN ACCIDENT WITH GUN
RICEVILLE, IOWA — Mrs. Ida Webster received word, December 8, that her son Walter Webster had been killed when the gun he was cleaning discharged.
Walter had been working at Corvalis, Washington, for the last two years and was at his rooming house at the time of his death. Full particulars were not available at this time.
The body will reach Riceville Wednesday. Tentative funeral plans have not been made but it is expected the service will be Friday, and burial made in Riverside Cemetery beside his father, the late Roy Webster.
Surviving are his mother; his sister, Lucille Webster, Charles City; a brother, Daniel, a patient at Sunnycrest Sanitarium, Dubuque; and a brother, LeRoy, Charles City.
Deceased was born in Riceville, December 20, 1909. He was graduated with Riceville High School class of 1926. He served during World War II in the United States with the exception of six months when he was stationed in England. He was discharged with a rank of staff sergeant.
