Dale Eugene Marvin -- April 5, 1925 -- May 5, 2003
FORT DODGE, IOWA - Dale E. Marvin, age 78, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, May 5, 2003 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 7, 2003, at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harry Imlay officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post 1856.
Dale was born on April 5, 1925 in Burr Oak Township. He attended Grant School in Orchard [Mitchell county]. He lived in Charles City and Ogden.
On Sept. 30, 1945 he was united in marriage to Shirley VanKleeck at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He served his country in the United States Army from 1945 - 1947. The couple moved to Fort Dodge in 1950. Dale worked as a truck driver and a mechanic for Porter Trucking. He enjoyed hunting and playing pool.
Survivors include his sons: David (Rochelle) Marvin of Boone, Mark (Janey) Marvin of Fort Dodge; daughters Arla (Ronald) Grady of Fort Dodge, Vicki (Charles Jr.) Crimmins of Fort Dodge, Peggy (Paul) Brinton of Nevada, Leann Terranova of Fort Dodge, Joleen (Doug) Consier of Stanhope, Kristy (David) Hilbert of Fort Dodge, Tracy (Chuck) Knoblauch of Urbandale;25 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers Leslie, Keith and Robert; sisters: Lucille Crooks, Merel Crooks, Phyllis Pitz, and Dorothy Simpson.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; his parents Walter and Pearl (Emery) Marvin; his brother Lester Marvin; sister Rosella Crooks and one great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge is in charge of arrangements.
