RICEVILLE YOUTH SUCCUMBS TO BRAIN HEMORRHAGE

Riceville, Iowa – May Wilkes, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wilkes, Riceville, died Wednesday night at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.

He had been on a fishing trip with his family in Minnesota and Friday night complained of severe pains in his head. He collapsed and was taken to the hospital where he remained in a coma until his death, which was attributed to a brain hemorrhage.

Surviving are his parents, three brothers, Milo; his twin; Lyle, at home; 2nd Lt. Quentin Wilkes, on leave from the Air Force before going to Germany for three years; and a sister; Mrs. Robert (Dixie) Cook, Cedar Falls.

Funeral services will be Saturday at the Methodis Church here with burial in the Riceville Cemetery. Riceville Funeral Home is in charge.
