OSAGE, IOWA - Helen M. Wagner, age 87, of Osage, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Monsignor John Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 6 p.m. and a scripture service at 7 p.m.
Helen was born October 16, 1924, in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Aloysious and Julia (Adams) Loecher. She married Everett S. Wagner on November 25, 1942, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. Helen received her GED on May 21, 1982. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Theresa's Circle, and the Third Order Secular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
She enjoyed crocheting, word puzzles, running the John Deere combine, praying the rosary and attending Mass. Helen and Everett enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling south for the winter, playing cards and polka dancing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her son, Irvin (Ida) Wagner of Osage, and children, Scott (Donna) Wagner and their children, Luke and Whitney, Kristy (Brad) Tegtmeyer and their children, Alyssa and Katey, Wendy (David) Brooker and their children, Jesse, Alexa and Jaye; her daughter, Azalea "Lea" (Ron) Norlinger of Mason City, and children, David Blanshan and his daughter, Rachel Gebert, Daniel Norlinger and his son, Samuel Norlinger; her son, Galen (Connie) Wagner of Osage, and children, Gabriella (Steve) Frost and their children, Samantha, Amanda, Wayne and Levi, Peter (Wendy) Wagner and their children, Lia, Michael and Natalie, Melinda (Andrew) Beland and their children, Porter, Koda and Caden, Tasha Wagner; her daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" Hutter and special friend, Sharon A. Hillstrom of Waterloo, and children, Nathan Hutter and his daughter, Novalee, Rachel Hutter and her son, Benjamin Reyes; her daughter, Virginia "Gin" (Randy) Groff of Osage, and children, Jordon Groff and Ashley Groff; two sisters, Margaret Mueller of Mesa, Ariz., and Joan (Jerome) Heimer of Garner; and one brother, Alfred (Dorothy) Loecher of West Bend, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett in 2004; and a great-granddaughter, Emily Tegtmeyer.
