Funeral Services Held
May 4 for Mrs. Lizzie
Adams, 94

Funeral services were held Monday, May 4 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Krall in Riceville for Mrs. Lizzie Adams, 94, who passed away Saturday, May 2 in the Riceville Hospital following a lengthy illness. The services were held at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Robert E. Leverenz officiating.

Mrs. Adams is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Marian) Krall of Riceville and one son, Mr. Leo Adams, Berkeley, California. She is also survived by three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Earl Adams, in 1949.

Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery with the Chisholm Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Obituary of Mrs. Lizzie Adams

Mrs. Lizzie Flanigan Adams was born at Eau Claire, Wisconsin on July 27, 1869, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Miller. She spent the early years of her childhood at Eau Claire and moved to Riceville at about the age of 18 years.

On November 30, 1887 she married Mr. Charles Earl Adams of Riceville. They lived for a short period of time at Devon, Iowa, after which time they returned to Riceville where he worked for the remainder of his life as a butter-maker and grocery store operator.

After her husband's passing in 1949, Mrs. Adams made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Louis Krall. This was her residence until her passing on may 2, 1964 at the age of 94 years.

On June 27, 1915, Mrs. Adams joined the Methodist Church of Riceville in which she was a faithful member. She was also a member of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Adams is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louis Krall, Riceville and one son, Mr. Leo Adams of Berkeley, California. She is also survived by three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

The funeral service was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Krall on May 4, 1964 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Robert E. Leverenz officiating. Music for the service was provided by Miss Kay Lott. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.

The casket bearers included Rex Grover, Lee Julius, Harvey Lott, Glen Moss, C. C. Pearce and Rex J. Willis.

The Chisholm Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Elizabeth Adams, who on Wednesday, July 27, celebrated her 91st birthday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Krall. Mrs. Adams came to Riceville 74 years ago from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, when just a young lady. A quiet celebration took place in the Krall home with Mr. and Mrs. Louie Krall and their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Krall of Lake Mills, Iowa.
