NUBSON, Christopher Rustebakke 1842-1892

Birth: Jan. 21, 1842, Norway.

Death: Oct. 11, 1893, Mitchell County, Iowa.

Christopher Rustebakke Nubson was born in Norway, on January 21, 1842, and immigrated to the United States in 1861, settling first in Wisconsin, with his parents, at the age of 19. He moved to Mitchell County in 1869 and bought a farm in Cedar Township. In 1872 he married Marit Lindelien who had also been born in Norway and who had immigrated in 1869. Christopher built a house in which they had ten children, of which eight survived childhood -- six girls and two boys. Most later descendants were from the girls and thus no Nubson names remain in the county now.

Christopher died on October 11, 1893, in Mitchell County, Iowa.
