OBITUARY
MARY Moore CrawfordMrs Mary Moore Crawford,92, passed away Wednesday morning November 8, at 2:40 o'clock at the home of her niece, Mrs Cora McCommond, 602 North Jackson St., Charles City, with whom she had resided for the past six years. She had been ill for four and a half months.
Deceased was the daughter of Edward and Harriet (Golden) Darby. Mary Darby was born at Diamond Lake, Ill.,on May 7, 1898*. She resided with her husband in their apartment at the family home occupied by the son George W. Crawford, until Mr.Crawford's death. She then made her home with a nephew, Fred Towner, of Floyd until 1933 when she came to Charles City to live with Mrs. McCommond.
She was a member of the Congregational church.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by two nephews and two nieces-Fred Towner and Jay Cole, of Floyd, Mrs. McCommond, of this city and Mrs. Bertha Kanter, of Marble Rock.
Funeral service was held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Lindaman funeral home, the Rev. J. G. Morgan officiating, and interment was in Riverside cemetery.
Mrs. Crawford, during her long residence in Lincoln, endeared herself to a large circle of friends who deeply mourn her loss.
Among those from this vicinity who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. George Crawford, Mrs. and Mrs. Wm. Walling, Mr. and Mrs. David Sewright, Mr. and Mrs. John Love and daughters; Mrs. Pheobe Towner and daughter; Mrs. Nellie Cornwell; Mrs. Frank Crawford and Anna; Mr. and Mrs. Galen Mellinger.
