Obituary-Dellage
Last Thursday morning at 7:20, there passed from our midst one of the pioneer, Christian mothers of this county. Mrs. Mary Ellen Morrissey-Dellage was born February 1, 1854, in Watertown Wis., to Mr.and Mrs. Dennis Morrissey. When a child of twelve she came with her parents by ox team and wagon to Mitchell county, settling near Brownville, where she lived until November 9, 1879, when she was united in marriage with Louis Dellage, and with a loving devotion cared for his four motherless children, as well as eight of her own as they came to bless her home. When her oldest child, Mrs. Mary Ellen Cross passed away she took into her home the four little grandchildren for a number of years until their father was able to give them a home.
After their marriage, Mrs. And Mrs. Dellage lived in Osage, later moving to New Haven, where they resided on a farm until fifteen years ago, when they moved into the house on south Seventh street in this city, where Mr. Dellage passed away five years ago.
