Mrs. Carl (Clara) Nelson

OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Mrs. Carl (Clara) Nelson, 76, who died Wednesday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Rock Creek. Lutheran Church, rural Osage; burial in the Rock Creek Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Carroll of Osage.

Champion Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clara Christine Arno was born June 14, 1900 at Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Ole Knutson Arno and Maren Andrine Larsdatter (Pedersen Sorlie). Clara was their only daughter and the middle child of three. Her brothers were:

1. Knud Alfred Arno (born July 23, 1896 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa, married Marie Blockhus February 20, 1918 Elgin, Fayette, Iowa, died February 13, 1973 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa), and

2. Martin Olaus Arno (born August 18, 1905 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa, died June 2, 1907 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa).

Clara had one step-brother, Lars Sorensen (born May 1889 Norway to Maren Andrine Petersen and Lars Sorensen).

Clara married Carl Gaylord Nelson on May 12, 1920 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple farmed in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. They had no children.

1910: Ole Earno (Arno), 55, Maren Earno 46, Knut Earn 14, Clara Earno, 9.
1915: Clara Arns (Arno),age 14.
1920: Ole K. Arno, 64, Mary Arno 55, Gustav Eine, 23, Clara Arno, 19.
1925: Carl Nelson, 26, Clara Nelson, 24.
1930: Carl Nelson, 31, Clara Nelson, 29.
