Funeral services were held for Hjalmer Edgar Robertson, 39 from the First Lutheran church, St. Ansgar, the Rev. Olaf Langehough officiating.
Death came to Hjalmer Robertson in Mercy hospital, Mason City, June 16, as the result of an acute appendicitis which developed into peritonitis.
Hjalmer Edgar Robertson was born in St. Ansgar, Iowa, November 10, 1897 and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Robertson. He was baptized by Rev. Olsen and confirmed by the Rev. M.E. Waldeland in the Lutheran faith.
He attended the Pleasant Valley School and the Osage Seminary. His life was spent with his parents on the home farm northeast of St. Ansgar until his final illness. He was of apparent good health and his death came as a shock to his relatives and friends. He was taken ill on Tuesday, but it was not until Friday it was realized he had acute appendicitus. He was rushed to the Mercy hospital, but peritonitis had developed and his case was beyond medical aid.
He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Irving M. Dodge, Mason City, Mrs. C. Arthur Peterson, Kensett, two nephews, Merlin and Alan Dodge and many other relatives.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery, St. Ansgar, Iowa.
