OBITUARY

Hanna M. Hancock was born in Bedford, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, March 1, 1824, and died in Mitchell Co. Iowa, January 25,, 1899, age 74 years, 10 mo., 24 days.

She was married to Henry S. Bamford in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, in 1842. Of this union there were born four boys and five girls, of which six died in infancy. Mrs. Tibete, Mrs. Leonard and John H. Bamford survive their mother. Mr. Bamford died November 30, 1863, in his 53rd year.

Mrs. Bamford married again in 1876 to Mr. Trow who died in the fall of 1884. Mrs. Trow has lived in Mitchell Co. since 1856. Her three brothers and one sister have gone before her.

She became a member of the M.E. Church at the age of 18 and has lived a consistent christian life ever since. When the Congregational Church was organized here she was one of its charter members and was one of its faithful attendants til old age and infirmities compelled her to stay at home. I have called on her many times and have always found her strong in the faith and her trust a comfort in her last hours.

She feared not death but was anxiously waiting for it to come, and on my last visit but one, she gave us these words to use as our text today, "My Times are in the thy hand". Ps. 31:15.

Her last hours were hours of comfort and trust. She lived her three score and ten and more, for her time was in His hand.

Song sung by her request were, "Jesus I my cross have taken", and "Row me over the stream". The funeral was held at the home Friday, at 10 a.m. in accordance with her request. Rev. McNeel, pastor of the Congregational church, preached the sermon. The remains were laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery.
