Again we are called upon to chronicle the demise of another most worthy and respected citizen of our township. This time the cold mantle of death has enveloped in its folds the womanly form of Mrs. Bertha Assorsen. She died at her late residence, one mile and a half north of this place, last Wednesday night, after suffering for nearly two years from consumption; aged 35 years and 1 month.
The deceased, by her congeniality and courteous manner, had endeared herself to the hearts of all with whom she came in contact. She was a true and devoted wife and mother, and a more kind and loving one never graced the family circle.
She leaves a husband and three small children to battle with the adversities of this life while she has journeyed on to the one beyond the river.
The funeral services were held in the Lutheran Church last Saturday, Rev. Olsen officiating, after which the procession moved to the Lutheran cemetery where all that is mortal of a good woman now rests in peace. The many friends of the deceased have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
