Former Meat Dealer at St. Ansgar Dies

St. Ansgar, Iowa — Funeral services for Carl W. Dalluge, 73, were held Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, in St. Ansgar, the Rev. C. Wolters officiating. He died Tuesday at his home in St. Ansgar.

Mr. Dalluge lived for three years near Grafton after his marriage, then moved to Grafton where he entered the meat business. They lived at Grafton 18 years and then moved to St. Ansgar where he continued in the meat business for 22 years. The business was then taken over by his son, Hirrel.

Survivors include the son, Hirrel, of St. Ansgar, and a daughter, Mrs. Violet Sinn, of Mason City, and a sister, Mrs. Anton Larson of Mason City.

Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran cemetery at Grafton.

Funeral services for Carl W. Dalluge, 73, who died Tuesday at about 11:30 p.m. will be held Friday, September 21, 1951 at the Immanuel Lutheran church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. H.C. Wolters officiating.

Carl William Dalluge, son of the late Gottlieb and Amelia Dalluge, was born October 3, 1878 in Germany. There he was baptized in infancy. At the age of five he came to America with his parents. The Dalluges first lived at Nashua, Iowa and later moved to Grafton where the late Mr. Dalluge was confirmed in the Emmanuel Lutheran church.

On November 19, 1901 he was united in marriage with Minnie Hasse. They farmed for three years near Grafton, then moved to Grafton where Mr. Dalluge entered the meat business. They lived in Grafton for 18 years and then moved to St. Ansgar where Mr. Dalluge continued in the meat business for 22 years. The business was then taken over by his son, Hirrel.

Mr. Dalluge's wife preceded him in death on July 30, 1945. He enjoyed good health until about two years ago when he submitted to a major operation. He never completely regained his health. He died Tuesday, Sept., 18, 1951 at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 15 days.

He is survived by his two children, a daughter, Mrs. Violet Sinn of Mason City and a son, Hirrel of St. Ansgar; also one sister, Mrs. Anton Larson of Mason City and two grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Emmanuel Lutheran cemetery in Grafton with Rev. Wolters conducting the committal services.
