Killed in Vietnam

Funeral services for Marine Lance Cpl. Stanton J. Setka, 19, of Riceville, who was killed in South Vietnam by an enemy explosive device, are pending at Chisholm Funeral Home, Riceville.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley J. Setka and a 1965 graduate of Riceville High School.

SET FOR MARINE

RICEVILLE, IOWA - Services for Marine Lance Cpl. Stanton J. Setka, 20, killed in action at Quang Nam, South Vietnam, August 29, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Riceville Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with military rites by the Marine Corps.

The Chisholm Funeral Home is in charge.

The Vietnam war also brought tragedy to the community. Two fighting men gave their lives for the freedom of others and were Sp. 4/C Deris Mattheis, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Mattheis of Cresco who died August 24, and Lance Corp. Stanton J. Setka, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Setka of Riceville. He died August 29 from head wounds suffered near Quang Nam.

Stanton Setka, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Setka, has enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. He is a graduate of Riceville Community High and completed his freshman year at Luther College. Decorah.
