Funeral services were held on Monday, May 26, 1986 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer for Eugene Hackenmiller, 46, of rural Stacyville. Mr. Hackenmiller died on Thursday, May 22, 1986 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage due to a farm related accident. Rev. T. Carpender officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born on March 30, 1940 at Osage to Alfred and Cecilia (Klinkhammer) Hackenmiller. He attended Little Cedar and Stacyville schools.

On June 13, 1964 he was married to Joanne Hofmeister at Stacyville. The couple farmed in the Stacyville-Meyer area.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne; three daughters: Julie, Vicki and Kelly, all at home; four sons: Robert of Clear Lake; Tom and Kevin and Keith all at home; his parents, Alfred and Cecilia Hackenmiller of Meyer; his grandmother, Helen Hackenmiller of Stacyville; one sister, Mrs. Barney (Betty) Retterath of McIntire; five brothers: John of Woodward, Paul, Leon and Charles, all of Stacyville; and Kenneth of Rochester, Minnesota.
