Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 20, 1986, for Theresa Hughes, 71, of McIntire, at St. Mel's Catholic Church in McIntire, with Rev. T. Carpenter officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Riceville. Mrs. Hughes died Saturday, May 17, 1986 at an Osage nursing home.

She was born in Minnesota on December 23, 1914. She was a retired housewife and farmer.

Survivors include her husband, Norbert Hughes of McIntire; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Elaine) Freerksen of LeRoy, Minnesota; one son, Everett Hughes of McIntire; two sisters, Rose King and Marie Retterath of Adams, Minnesota; one brother, Joe Wettstein of Adams, Minnesota; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She married Norbert Hughes, the son of Thomas Hughes and Anna (Jordan) Hughes.
