Funeral notice:
Virginia Faas, 81, of St. Ansgar, Iowa died Sunday morning, November 20, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society of St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Service: Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Reuben Spinler officiating.
Visitation: Friends may call at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011, and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Interment: Interment will be in Woodbury Cemetery near Lyle..

Obituary
Virginia Pearl Faas, age 81, of St. Ansgar, Iowa died Sunday morning, November 20, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society of St. Ansgar, Iowa.
She was born August 21, 1930 to George and Millie (Barnett) Rohde in Stacyville, Iowa. After attending country school in Mona, Iowa, Virginia worked at the telephone office in Lyle as an operator. She married Sylvan Faas on January 9, 1954 in Stacyville. They made their home in Mona and raised four children. Sylvan passed away on March 26, 2008 and Virginia moved to Good Samaritan in St. Ansgar in June. A member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Lyle, Virginia enjoyed cooking and baking.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty (Richard) Rosenberg of St. Ansgar, Iowa; three sons, George (Bonnie) Faas of Mona, Iowa; Greg (Mindy) Faas of Osage, Iowa; Gary (Kelly) Faas of Lyle; nine grandchildren, Joe Rosenberg; Julie Brown; Josh, Jon and Chelsea Faas; Holly Kruse; Jacob Faas; Travis Faas; Katie Faas; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Bernard (Billie) Rohde of Clay Center, Kansas; Harold Rohde of Mason City, Iowa; Clifford Rohde of Pocahontas, Iowa; Duane (Eileen) Rohde of St. Paul, Minnesota; Olven Rohde of Osage, Iowa; sisters, Reta Rohde of Austin, Minnesota; Rosie (Richard) Hagelund of St. Ansgar, Iowa; Geraldine Wodke of Osage, Iowa; five sisters-in-law, Marjorie Rohde of Stacyville, Iowa; Norma Rohde of Wichita, Kansas; Monaliga Rohde of Madrid, Spain; Monica Faas of Stacyville, Iowa; Marlene Mauer of Denver, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvan; her parents, George and Millie Rohde; three brothers, Laverne, Virgil and Raymond Rohde; a great granddaughter, Bree Rosenberg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Lyle. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Woodbury Cemetery near Lyle.
