James W. Greeley

RICEVILLE, IOWA — James Greeley, 65, of Riceville, died Monday (Nov. 28, 2005) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center after a short illness.

He was born on Jan. 30, 1940, in Riceville, Iowa, the son of William and Gladys (Wagner) Greeley. He graduated from McIntire High School in 1958, the last graduating class of the school.

He entered the U.S. Navy. Following his service, he drove quarry truck for Martin-Marietta.

On Feb. 19, 1966, he was united in marriage to Nancy Keeton in Norfolk, Va. They made Riceville their home following their marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; four children, Steve, Scott, William and Stella, all of Riceville; his mother, Gladys Jacobus, of Riceville; four grandchildren; and two brothers, John and Richard, both of Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Conway Funeral Home, 407 Woodland Ave. in Riceville, with the Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating. Burial will be in the Wayne Cemetery in McIntire.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Conway Funeral Home in Riceville.
