Shirley Ann (Heydeman) McConoughey – November 21, 1936 – September 26, 2004

Shirley Ann McConoughey, 67, Bradenton, Fla., passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at her home in the presence of her family.

A memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Holmes Beach. A memorial gathering will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes 43rd St. Chapel, 604 43rd St. W., Bradenton. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 600 U.S. 301 Blvd. West, Suite 136, Bradenton, FL 34205 or to American Red Cross , Manatee County Chapter, 2905 59th St. West, Bradenton, FL 34209. ``God Bless You.''

She was born Nov. 21, 1936, in Mitchell, Iowa. She moved with her family, Lena and Cyril Heydeman to East Moline, where she attended United Township High School, graduating in 1954.

Following her marriage in 1956, she lived for 35 years in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Kensington, Md., before moving to Florida in 1995. She lived in Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island for seven years before building a new home on Perico Island in 2002.

She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Holmes Beach. While raising her five children, she worked for several years as a professional floral designer.

She enjoyed traveling, reading, baking and playing both the piano and guitar.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; five children, Keith, Lane, Scott, Brenda and Douglas; and eight grandchildren.
