Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew (Viola) Angell, 64, a longtime Osage resident, were held on Monday, January 13, 1986 at the United Methodist Church in Osage. Rev. James Pittman officiated with burial in the Osage Cemetery. Mrs. Angell died on Saturday, January 11 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.
Viola Metz was born on March 5, 1921 at Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of John (Jack) and Abbie (Ruesink) Metz. She attended school at Stacyville and Osage, graduating from Osage High School in 1940.
She was united in marriage to Andrew Angell on June 4, 1940 at Mason City, Iowa. She worked for 20 years at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital and retired in 1983. In 1970, she graduated from nurses training at North Iowa Area Community College. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one infant son and three infant grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Andrea) Dammen of Osage, mrs. John (Mary Beth) Griffin of Marshalltown; one son, Jack of Nashua; one sister, Mrs. Georgia Carter of Osage, one brother, John Metz Jr. of Osage and nine grandchildren.
