Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 2, 1987 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville, for Verla Me Nerad, 54, of St. Ansgar. Rev. P. Brown officiated, and burial was in St. Peter Cemetery. Mrs. Nerad died Wednesday, April 29, 1987, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage.

She was born March 24, 1933 in Cass County, North Dakota, to Edward and Mildred Koetz.

Survivors include her husband, Victor of St. Ansgar; two daughters, Vickie Nera of St. Ansgar and Kathy Kocian of Omaha Nebraska; a son, Randy of St. Ansgar; her mother, Mildred Koetz of Lisbon, North Dakota; two grandchildren; two sisters, Marla Jean Lokken of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Carol Lee Sterling of Lisbon; and one brother, Wilbert Koetz of Lisbon.
