William Joseph “Billy” Wilcox

LEROY, MINNESOTA - The funeral for William "Billy" Wilcox will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the LeRoy Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Tom Kolden officiating. Burial will be in the spring.

Mr. Wilcox, 44, of LeRoy, died Saturday (March 1, 2008) at his home of natural causes.

William Joseph "Billy" Wilcox was born June 6, 1963 in Spring Valley. He attended Riceville schools and graduated from the University of Austin, Texas. He also attended Austin Vo-Tech for Industrial Welding Technology. He was employed at GMT Corporation in Nashua, Iowa. On September 14, 1985, he married Lisa Winkels at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He enjoyed fishing camping, and motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Cole of Camp Pendelton, Calif., Jake, Sam and Bobby all at home; his father, Robert Wilcox of Riceville, Iowa; his mother, Loma (Floyd) Roske of Osage, Iowa; one sister Julie (Gary) Lucas of Mason City, Iowa; six step-sisters, Sharon (Larry) Lovelace, Nancy (Russ) Wolthoff, Connie Fox, Wendy (Les) Gibbs, Susan (Tom) Miller, and Jill (Steve) Johnson; and two step-brothers, Russ (Rowie) Roske, and Kevin (Julie) Roske.

He was preceded in death by a sister, a step-sister, his step-mother, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy, and an hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy is in charge of arrangements.

William Joseph Wilcox was the son of Loma Jean Bakkum and her 2nd husband Robert Edward Wilcox.

His mothers’ first husband was Harold Frank Frieberg.

Her 2nd husband was Robert Edward Wilcox;

and her 3rd husband is Floyd R. Roske.

His father Robert Wilcox is buried in Saint Peters Lutheran Cemetery in Riceville.

His mothers 1st husband Harold Frieberg is buried in the Riverside Riceville Cemetery.
