Lillian Catharina Wilhelmine Ring, Riceville, age 85, died on Monday, September 3, 1990, at the Riceville Community Rest Home.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 6, 1990, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, with Pastor R. Pfeil officiating. Interment was at the rural Lutheran Cemetery south of Riceville.

Lillian Ring was born on July 27, 1905 in rural Maple Leaf, to John and Christina Schwake. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Maple Leaf on September 3, 1905. She attended schools in Iowa and Minnesota through the 8th grade and she also worked as a "hired girl."

On November 1, 1923, she married John Ring and they lived south of Riceville until moving to town. Her husband worked as a mechanic at A & H Motors in Riceville until he retied in the eawrly 60's. Lillian was a full-time housewife and devoted mother. She attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville for many years.

She is survived by six children, Mrs. Lorell Christensen and Mrs. Dale Warburton of Riceville; Mrs. Gene Ankrum of Stockton, Minnesota; John Ring of Emmetsburg, Iowa; Elmer if Milton, Florida; and Mrs. Harold Erath of Mesa, Arizona; two brothers, Harold Schwake of Riceville and William Schwake of Waterloo; three sisters: Mrs. Violetta Adams of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Amanda Baethke of Elma, and Viola Averhoff of Evansdale, Iowa; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one son, Marvin; and six brothers: Emil, John, Fred, Leslie, Edward, and George (Schwake).
