Mrs. Theodore Heller Dead
Mrs. Ella Heller was born near Byron, Illinois on July 9, 1894, the daughter of Ralph Miller and his wife, Della, nee Bergschmidt. At the age of ten years she came with her parents to the Maple Leaf neighborhood. On October 20, 1937, she was married to Theodore Heller, and since then lived in Riceville. This union was blessed with one daughter, Dorothy.
Upon coming to Iowa, Mrs. Heller became a member of the Lutheran Church, confirmed in the faith at Maple Leaf on March 16, 1913. Since her marriage she was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and it's Ladies' Aid Society.
About four years ago her health began to fail. She underwent several operations. After several other misfortunes she became bedfast about a year ago, and had to endure physical pain. She fell asleep in the faith of her Savior at 4:20 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 1949, at the age of 54 years, six months and 18 days.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, January 30, at 1:45 o'clock in the home and at 2:00 o'clock at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, conducted by the Rev. Walter Schroeder. Interment was in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church cemetery, south of Riceville.
Besides her husband, Theodore Heller, and daughter, Dorothy, she is being survived by her stepson, William Heller, Riceville; her stepdaughter, Josephine, Mrs. L. J. Brown, Riceville, and the following brothers and sisters: Fred, Jennie, Daryl and Cornelius, all of Riceville; Nellie, Mrs. Albert Wilder, Melrose Park, Illinois; Annette, Mrs. Harold Joyal, Osage; and Gertrude, Mrs. Harvey Ammons, Osage.
